Lock and Load

Yesterday, we finally broke down and assembled the baby's crib. We've received quite a few suggestions to put the baby in a drawer, but we'd like to keep our baby for more than a day before Child Services come around. It does seem pretty cozy though...

So here's our crib. Our boy will be the next Robinson Crusoe...or Ishmael...or Popeye. Hopefully the ocean feel doesn't make him use up our diapers quicker than normal. Only took one or two hours to assemble the five parts (that was without instructions just so you know). Glad that engineering degree is helping me out so much.

Raquel and her mom made some onesies. Little Bug will be attending the baby dances in style.

And in a attempt to be modest, Raquel stitched up some hooter hiders for feedtimes.

Here's the link Raquel used to make them if you're interested in protecting your assets: http://tadacreations.blogspot.com/2009/06/nursing-cover-up-tutorial.html

And I'm not sure if we ever posted any pictures of our ultrasound, but four months later is better than never. Little Matt has been a Ward since the beginning. He'll be all the talk of the maternity ward.

End of the Tunnel

This week I had finals for summer semester. It was the first time I ever took any classes during the summer (and hopefully the last). I found it to be ridiculously depressing. Maybe the years of my childhood when summers meant "break" have ruined me for the professional world. Nevertheless, Friday morning was my last final in Survey of Numerical Analysis. This picture (although taken today) is a representation of my thoughts and feelings Friday morning. It also may work well for a schizophrenia pamphlet.

Now I am done. Sleep deprivation, get thee hence (until September 5th when I will receive a new alarm clock). But it was all worth it. Check out my remarkable intellectual growth achieved in the past year. I truly am now a Master. The pebble has been taken.

The world awaits.

Baby Shower

This last weekend, my mom and sister threw a baby shower for me. It was great. Thanks Mom and Brielle! Below is a picture of the family that was there, except my cousin who had left already.

Here are some girls from church that made it (and my cousin on the left).

I have to admit that while I was opening gifts and talking with everyone, it felt really weird. I’ve been pregnant now for 8 months and still the whole idea of having a baby is very nerve-racking. Nevertheless, Matt and I are excited, and this baby shower was wonderful. Thanks again to everyone who was involved to make it a special event for me and Bug.
